Bloom Public Health Partners with Origin Technologies and LANACOME to Advance Track and Trace Solutions for Pharma Supply Chain in Cameroon.

Bloom Public Health, in collaboration with Origin Technologies FZCO and LANACOME, hosted a pivotal workshop on Track and Trace Solutions for the Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Ecosystem on January 28, 2025. The event, held at the LANACOME Conference Hall in Yaoundé, brought together key stakeholders, industry leaders, and experts to discuss innovative solutions aimed at ensuring the safety and integrity of pharmaceutical supply chains in Africa.

The workshop was attended by influential figures in the public health and pharmaceutical sectors, including Bloom Public Health’s Ikenna Orakwue, Director of Special Projects, and Etiene Kwebe, Program Manager for Cameroon. They were joined by Prof. Rose Ngono Mballa, Director General of LANACOME, represented by Mvondo Christophe, Head of Communication Department at LANACOME, and Dr. Ntsama Nicole from the Ministry of Public Health, Cameroon.

During the workshop, Ikenna Orakwue provided an in-depth presentation on Bloom Public Health’s mission to transform public health across Africa, with a particular focus on the importance of pharmaceutical traceability. He emphasized how the Track and Trace Solutions developed by Bloom Public Health’s partner, Origin Technologies FZCO, are poised to revolutionize pharmaceutical supply chains on the continent, reducing the prevalence of counterfeit drugs and enhancing access to life-saving treatments.

“The need for end-to-end traceability in the pharmaceutical supply chain is critical for ensuring the safety of medicines,” said Orakwue. “By monitoring and securing the journey of drugs from production to patient, we can safeguard lives and promote health for all.”

Additional thought-provoking presentations were delivered by Onur Soybaş and Chaymae Lhafss of Tiga Healthcare Technologies (Turkey), and Khaled El-Sayed of Origin Technologies FZCO (Egypt). Their contributions highlighted the significance of leveraging technology and data to create transparent, accountable, and efficient pharmaceutical supply chains.

With counterfeit drugs remaining a significant issue in many parts of Africa, the event underscored the vital role of innovative technologies in tackling the continent’s pharmaceutical challenges. The workshop is a step forward in Bloom Public Health’s commitment to building safer, more transparent supply chains and advancing public health across Africa.
