Cameroun : décès du Dr Anastasie Akamba des suites de Covid 19
La directrice de l’hôpital de district de la Cité Verte situé dans l’arrondissement de Yaoundé II, a été emportée par la pandémie de Coronavirus, le 10 juillet 2020 après quelques jours de détresse respiratoire.
Le corps médical camerounais est endeuillé depuis hier. Le Dr Anastasie Akamba est décédée des suites de coronavirus. Depuis la survenue de la pandémie de la Covid-19 dans notre pays, elle a été au front avec ses collègues pour sauver ses compatriotes. C’est dans l’exercice de ses fonctions, qu’elle a chopé ce virus qui l’a conduit à la mort.
« J’ai bien connu le Dr Anastasie Akamba dont j’ai dirigé la thèse de doctorat. Nous perdons une brillante consœur, dévouée et passionnée par sa vocation. Que dieu accueille cette servante dans son royaume », écrit le Pr Tetanye Eko, pédiatre. « Quelle nouvelle! Une autre grande perte pour la famille de la santé. Que Dieu nous aide et console sa famille. Repose en paix Grande Sœur », Dr Achu, Secrétaire permanent du Programme national de lutte contre le paludisme.
« Ma belle-mère a été fauchée par la Covid-19 ce jour » a annoncé Serge Eric Epoune, le chef de la division communication des Aéroports du Cameroun. « Après autant de vies de cas positifs de coronavirus sauvées, elle s’en va sans bénéficier du décret présidentiel qu’elle méritait pourtant si bien » a-t-il ajouté.
« En détresse respiratoire depuis des jours, Dr Anastasie Akamba, Directeur de l’hôpital de district de la Cité Verte à Yaoundé est décédée », informe le média national.
Celle qui était aussi médecin de la sélection nationale féminine de football cadet vient se joindre à la liste du personnel de santé ayant péri de la terrible maladie qui a élu domicile sur le triangle national depuis le mois de mars 2020.
Les personnels et systèmes de santé jouent actuellement un rôle déterminant dans la lutte mondiale contre le COVID-19, et des mesures spéciales doivent être prises pour les soutenir et les protéger.
Les travailleurs de la santé du monde entier sont en première ligne de la lutte quotidienne pour endiguer la propagation du virus et sauver des vies. Les images de ces travailleurs, exténués, qui se battent pour sauver des patients ont touché le monde entier. La sécurité et la santé au travail des personnels soignants est primordiale pour leur permettre d’effectuer leur travail en cette période de crise. Leur protection doit être une priorité.
Notons que pour l’heure, le Cameroun compte 14916 cas testés positifs pour 11 525 et 359 décès. Des chiffres qui sont à la hausse du fait le relâchement des mesures barrières par certains citoyens en dépit des actions des autorités compétentes à torde le coup au Covid-19.
