Dr. Elanga, a health expert in Yaoundé says tight fitting breast wears can cause cancer of the breast because of compression in the chest area, which prevents the lymph system from clearing toxins.


Speaking recently, Dr. Elanga asserted that restricting the lymph system can result in building up toxins around the breast area. “Compression in the chest area easily develops into breast cancer because compression prevents the lymph system from clearing toxins. Wearing a very tight bra for too long prevents the pores from breathing, sweat accumulates and toxins build up which causes breast cancer,” the doctor stated. According to Dr. Elanga, women who wear wire breast wears for 12 hours a day have much higher risk of developing breast cancer than those who do not put on bras.

He said, estrogen causes breast development in young girls during puberty and during pregnancy, it helps the breast development for breastfeeding. “Also, an increase of estrogen during a long period of time can lead to abnormal breast cell, which can prevent the cell to multiple and develop into cancer.” The Medic said too much alcohol causes breast cancer, especially among women who have been drinking over a long period of time. “Smoking is another cause of breast cancer, especially in young women. Again, obese women in post menopause can also have breast cancer because fatty tissues produce higher estrogen with higher insulin level which can lead to breast cancer.”
